The Rheinland Dining Facility (DFAC) was closed for renovations in Jan 20. Airman assigned to Ramstein Air Base and living in the dorms on Ramstein Air Base were placed on BAS II through 31 May 22.
The expected DFAC renovation completion date is 24 Jun 22 with a projected serving date on 18 Jul 22. Once the Rheinland DFAC reopens, most Airmen living in the dorms on Ramstein Air Base will need to transition to ESM.

(1 Jun 22 – 31 Jul 22)
• Dorm Airmen, projected to Essential Station Messing.
(ESM)/meal card, will receive BAS-I
• Lunch will be available at O’Club Mon-Fri, 1100-1300L
at government rate ($6.15) until the DFAC reopens
(Tentatively – 1 Aug 22)
• Most Ramstein dorm Airmen will receive ESM
(i.e., the meal deduction)
• 4 meals provided daily at Rheinland DFAC
How it works: Upon entry to the line you will provide your dorm & bldg number and then pay $6.15. You will be served one protein, starch, and up to three vegetables of your choosing. This price also includes a drink.
What do you need to do: Review your LES to ensure the BAS and COLA entitlements are updated correctly.
