Family Child Care (FCC) is a great alternative to the CDC for child care. FCC providers are independent business operators and work under their own contracts with the parents of the children they care for. There are FCC providers on Ramstein and Vogelweh as well as several affiliated providers in surrounding villages.
The FCC is available for active duty and DoD families and referral lists are available in the office on Ramstein. Parents can expect high standards of care from this home-based program due to the prerequisites that must be met prior to becoming certified.
To become licensed, providers must pass background checks and attend rigorous orientation and training classes that include, CPR, first aid, child development, nutrition, detection and prevention of child abuse and AF standards. Providers’ homes are inspected for quality care and for safety, fire and public health to ensure their home complies with FCC guidelines.
In accordance with current AF instruction we are not giving out FCC provider listing. For full time care you may create a profile for your family on the following link to get on FCC and CDC waitlists: https://militarychildcare.cnic.navy.mil/mcc-consumer/home/viewhome.action
For deployment, PCS, extended duty or any other type of occasional care call the FCC office directly for a list of providers that offer that type of care.
Please feel free to visit our FCC Office to obtain more information about the FCC program.
