Ramstein AB, Germany – When the idea of Fall Fest started over a year ago, the 86th Force Support Squadron had one thing in mind – to make it a success! Dozens of meetings were held to finalize the details throughout the squadron to make Fall Fest a memorable event. The planning started back early in the new year when we ordered commemorative giveaways like custom gluhwein mugs, reusable Ramstein Air Base bags, and Fall Fest wristbands.

There’s a certain level of intensity when it comes to planning base-wide events, especially when Ramstein is the largest congregation of Americans in Europe. Our goal was to have something for everyone to enjoy; from kids to adults, single Airman to families. Looking back at everything that was offered at Fall Fest, 86 FSS most definitely checked all the boxes. There were carnival games, food vendors, pumpkin decorating, performances from our Youth Instructional team, tricycle races, family photos, and ended with the popular Trunk or Treat.

We were blown away by the incredible turnout at Fall Fest and couldn’t help but think that the weather had a helping hand in that. What seemed like endless grey rainy skies for weeks, broke away just in time for the sun to shine on the event allowing for a steady crowd from the moment we kicked off Fall Fest at 1100 until well after Trunk or Treat.

There was a lot to be enjoyed but we were beyond thrilled to see the crowd attracted to the Fall Photo Booth. Our photographer, Izabela Williams, captured the memories of more than 300 families at Fall Fest. She said, “ I’ve been taking photos for years now, but this was a humbling experience and made me feel very connected to the community.”

Overall, it was a successful event that the 86th Force Support Squadron will look forward to hosting AGAIN next year!
