The Air Force Aid Society (AFAS) provides millions of dollars annually in support to Airmen, Guardians, and their families through emergency financial assistance, educational scholarships and grants, and community-enhancing programs. This aid alleviates financial burdens and fosters a strong, resilient Air and Space Force community.

Emergency Financial Assistance
When unexpected emergencies arise, AFAS provides no-interest loans and/or grants.
1. Standard Assistance: provides financial aid, including interest-free loans and grants, along with budgeting assistance, to help overcome emergencies and achieve long-term stability.
2. Falcon Assistance: expedited, no-interest loan of up to $1,500.

Educational Scholarships
AFAS education grants, loans and scholarships are available to dependent children or spouses of Airmen and Guardians, both active duty and retired.
General Henry H. Arnold Educational Grant Program has awarded nearly $167 million to over 109,000 Air and Space Force dependents since 1988, providing need-based financial aid and access to further educational support.

Community Programs
AFAS supports a wide variety of Community Programs at Air Force Base and Space Force Base installations across the world.
1. Bundles for Babies: M&FRC workshop designed to teach soon to be and new parents basic parenting and financial skills. Air Force and Space Force Attendees receive a $150 from AFAS.

2. Childcare for PCS: AFAS provides $200 per child both before and after a PCS to use at a childcare provider of their choice.

3. Give Parents a Break: Referred families in need receive $40 per month per child for childcare from AFAS.
